Valentines Day Ideas for Men on a Budget

According to Dr. Travis Stork, the benefits of being in love include fewer doctor visits, faster healing, less depression, less substance abuse, lower blood pressure, less anxiety, fewer colds, longer life and of course, a happier life. By these measures, love is a cure for everything. If this is the case, why is it so hard to make love work? One recent survey concludes that nine out of ten women just want to feel special on Valentines Day. If there is no argument that Valentines Day is the official holiday of romance, then one can assume that in order to make love work you must, at all times, treat your mate as if she is the most precious gem in the world.

At work delivery

Even when occurring on a weekend, not many people enjoy the luxury of having Valentines Day off from work. Women love to stand out amongst their friends and sending something to your mates workplace can have her churning with excitement and anticipation of seeing you later. Don’t stick to traditional flowers. Send something like an edible chocolate-dipped fruit bouquet, or a hand written poem delivered by singing telegram. Ensure that the moment she returns from work is just as thoughtful by having a single rose handy and a bottle of wine or champagne. Conclude the evening with a bubble bath and massage.

Handmade pottery or card

When deciding on a Valentines gift, it’s important to remember that the amount of thought you put into the gift is the only thing that matters. Find a handmade pottery shop and design a bowl, cup, or flower vase. Deliver the gift along with breakfast in bed and a handmade card. To go a step further, place an IOU in the card which she can redeem for champagne and a massage at the end of the night.

Home cooked dinner

There’s an old adage, “the way to every mammals heart is through the stomach.” Think about the many relationships in your life, including those with your pets. How many times have you bonded and built trust between each other over a single meal? We all love food and need it to survive. Prepare your mates favorite dish and set the mood with lighting and wine. Surprise her with a small token of appreciation such as a handmade picture collage or single rose which will compliment the dinner and make her feel special. Conclude with a bubble bath and massage.

Creating a special Valentines Day for your mate does not have to break your bank account. Think about the connection between the two of you and do something thoughtful to augment it. The perfect Valentines Day surprise will be a balance between unpredictable and genuine.
